Hello and Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year!
It is always heartwarming to begin a new school year with all of our Tigers and their families, those returning and those new to us!
Even as we begin this historic year with distance learning and COVID-19 safety measures in place, we are very excited to see our future college graduates (whom I’ve coined the “Zoomer” generation) in class (virtually for now), attending to their learning meetings, submitting work online, and revolutionizing education!
At Commonwealth, we have been fortunate and strategic in providing all of our students (PreK-6th) with the tools (iPads), resources, and daily experiences that utilize technology to rethink, empower, and engage our students with the skills necessary to succeed and achieve. We are grateful that our students were adept in using technology last March (Friday the 13th!) when we were sent home to be safe from the effects of the pandemic. They had the opportunity to continue to learn and we to teach.
As we embark on a school year that is different than any other ever anticipated, we have re-envisioned school, learning, and connectedness. During distance learning, our students engage with their teacher on a daily basis. The amount of time of “live virtual” interaction is based upon newly adopted requirements and appropriate to a student’s development and age. Virtual classrooms have been created. Teachers and staff are constructing new learning avenues and platforms. Our staff and families are working together like never before to ensure we provide our students an educational experience that is rigorous, relevant, and engaging! (Please visit the tab titled DISTANCE LEARNING for more information)
As a part of the No Excuses University network, Commonwealth Tigers are trained to exemplify and acquire the skills crucial to become future college graduates. Our school motto embodies what we believe about our kind, hardworking, and purposeful students: I Can, I Will, I ROAR!
Pandemic or not, we are committed to our students, families, and the future!
We hope our website provides you with useful information as you navigate through for specific information.
Thank you for taking time to read this message! Go Tigers!
